Hey yall! This post has been a long time coming & I had intended to do a video about it but I'm afraid the video would get super long & I would lose my voice, lol. I've had sooo many people ask me WHY I stopped recruiting others to work from home several months ago and have been solely focusing on affiliate marketing with the products that I personally use and love. Soooo here's why...
I am one of the most compassionate people you could ever meet. So much so that I try not to even watch or listen to the news because all of the bad crap that goes on in the world really gets to me. And we all know that's all the news channels focus on- the bad. So if you tell me how unhappy, broke, or stressed you are over your crappy job, recent layoff, or whatever...yes, I will want to help you change that crappy situation. But the thing is, I can't do it FOR you! Everyone SAYS they want to change their financial situation, but very few actually do anything to make it happen. They just make excuse after excuse, put it off and put if off. Like I said, I have compassion for yall but I'm sorry, I just don't tolerate B.S. excuses. You either want to change your situation or you don't, it's that simple. No excuses! So let's look at 5 of the most common B.S. excuses that people give... 1. "I'm really busy, I just don't have TIME to build a home business." Really? You don't have time? So you're telling me that you NEVER watch tv or Netflix, get on Facebook, play games, get a lunch break at work, read trashy books, sit around in waiting rooms- doctor, dentist, car dealership, beauty salon, auto repair shop, etc, your kids NEVER nap or play independently, etc? I'm sorry, I just don't buy it. We're ALL busy, life is hectic! But we make time for the things that we WANT to make time for. The beauty of a home-based business is that you can build it on your OWN schedule. Yes, it will take you longer to reach your income goals if you're only able to work 30 mins/day but building slowly is much better than not building at all and staying STUCK in your current situation for the rest of your life. 2. "I don't have the money to start a home business." or "I can't afford the start-up fee." Borrow the money. Sell something you don't need. Don't want to do that? Fine, join a free business. You probably won't make nearly as much money, but we've all gotta start somewhere. Honestly, I've found that the majority of people who use the "lack of funds" excuse really COULD afford it if they'd just give up buying a few packs of cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, fast food, energy drinks, tattoos, or shopping sprees. Again, it's all about priorities. You either want it you don't. 3."Is this a scam? I'm afraid I'm going to get scammed." I've been making money online in some form or another since I was 17 years old. I'm 29 now, I'll be 30 in February. So that's going on 13 years. I know what's a scam and what isn't. I know what works and what doesn't. I'm not going to put my face or my name on a scam and I don't recommend anything that I do not KNOW to be legitimate. Don't believe me? Do your own research on whatever company you're considering joining, it's not that difficult. Just keep in mind, however, that EVERY company has haters and people who joined & didn't do crap with their business, so they screamed "SCAM!" because they didn't make any money for those ZERO efforts they put in. So if you're going to research, research WELL. 4."I don't want to bug my friends and family." or "I really don't know that many people." You don't want to bug your friends and family? So don't! You don't know that many people? Learn to find people who are actually LOOKING for what you have to offer. Step out of your comfort zone and put yourself out there. No one can find you if you stay hidden in your little box. Figure out who your target market is and then go find them! 5. "I don't like selling." , "I'm not a good sales-person." , or "I don't like talking to people." So don't sell! Find a product or service that you love & believe in, use it yourself, and share it with others. Have you ever recommended a movie, song, restaurant, store, hair stylist, vehicle, or anything else? Yes? Well did you get PAID for it? Nope, I didn't think so... Find something you love, use it, recommend it, and get paid for it! If you truly can't find a product or service that you love and will personally use, join a company that does all of the selling FOR you! I just recently joined a brand new company that provides a sales team who actually calls your prospects and "closes" them FOR YOU. You never even have to TALK to anyone if you don't want to. You just share a phone # and a promo code, anyone interested calls the phone number & enters that promo code, and the company does the rest for you. How easy is that? I mean c'mon now, there's a way around EVERY dilemma! Now those are just FIVE of the MANY B.S. excuses that I've heard. And 2 superrrr irritating responses that I've also gotten are... 1. "How soon will I start making money with this?" I don't know your work-ethic! I don't know if you're going to join and do NADA, expecting to get rich overnight, or if you'll actually do the work required to succeed. That's up to YOU! 2. "Well how much have YOU made with this?" MY success has absolutely NOTHING to do with YOUR success! Whether I've made ONE dollar or one MILLION dollars, you get paid on YOUR efforts, NOT on mine! Months ago when I decided to stop recruiting/referring/sponsoring/what-have-you I TRASHED a list of 327 prospects who were either "thinking about" or "saving up the money" to join me in one of my companies OR they claimed they were going to join me on a specific date (or "next pay day") and yet they NEVER...DID... That crap is ridiculous, yall! Ain't nobody got time fo' dat! lol! Seriously though, doing nothing is making you NOTHING! Stop putting it off and putting it off, just give it a shot! The time is going to pass anyways, so why not give it a go, give it your all, and see if it will change your life like it's changed the lives of sooo many others. You'll never know until you try! But anyways, I think I've ranted long enough and that should explain perfectly the reason WHY I stopped wasting my time & energy on tire-kickers and B.S. excuse makers. I refuse to CHASE after ANYONE- it's YOUR life and it's YOUR decision whether you want to change your life or not... Anyone who knows me knows that I very rarely rant, so if this post "stepped on your toes" then you may want to figure out exactly WHY that is. If there happens to be someone on here reading this right now who actually IS ready to change their financial situation, actually IS willing to give it their all, and actually WON'T procrastinate and/or give me B.S. excuses- take a look around my website here and let me know if you see anything that strikes your fancy. I will answer any questions that you may have, help you with anything that I possibly can, etc- but I can't & won't do it FOR you. Just keeping it real, Missy <3

Did you know that there are roughly 30,000 people RIGHT NOW looking for a home based business??? Did you know that an average of 77% of people HATE their jobs??? That's a lot of unhappy employees! Having said that, why do so many network marketers waste their time trying to CONVINCE someone to join their team? If someone flat out isn't interested in your opportunity, just move on! There are tons and tons of people who are out there LOOKING for a home based business, go find THOSE people instead of wasting your time on the ones who simply do not "get it!" Think about this for a second... If you have to CONVINCE someone to join your team, what makes you think that you won't also have to CONVINCE them to do pretty much ANYTHING for their business? If you start off your business partnership by convincing them to join you, you will most likely spend every day from that day forward trying to CONVINCE them to work their business. That's IF you're even ABLE to convince them to do the work required of them to succeed.... Trust me, it's just not worth it. Not only will you be miserable from the stress of having to deal with them, but you will waste a LOT of time working with that person trying to get them off their behinds to work their business. NOT. WORTH. IT. ATTTT ALLLLLL!!!!!!!!! What you should try to remember is that you are offering HOPE. Hope for a way out of a miserable job/career. Not everyone who despises their job and wants a better life is actually WILLING to do anything about it. Sad, but true. And there's nothing we can do to FORCE them to take charge of their own life and take control of their own financial future. No matter how badly we want to help them, we can't force it upon them. It's up to that person to decide they are ready for a change. Don't waste your time trying to convince them. If they ever come around (A.K.A- WAKE UP!) they will come find you, if your opportunity fits them. And if that never happens, well, there's 30,000 people who ARE looking for a home based business...go out and find THOSE people instead! <3 To Your Success, Missy VanMeter www.facebook.com/mdvanmeter www.facebook.com/groups/TinyHomeBigLife Every so often, while talking to people who have expressed an interest in working from home, I hear a response like this...
"I'd really like to join your business, I'd give anything to be able to afford to get us out of this dumpy apartment and in a nice home of our own. But I have a 1 year old daughter, so I just don't have the time to build a business." SERIOUSLY? Are you seriously using your child as an excuse for not giving that child a nice, clean, safe home to live in? Your child should be your motivation, your inspiration, not your excuse! Because essentially, to me, what you're saying when you use your child as an excuse not to build your own business and secure their financial future is that your child isn't WORTH IT. My child isn't worth me giving up my favorite tv shows, losing an hour or 2 of sleep per night, getting my nose out of facebook a little, giving up girls/guys night, putting down that video game controller or trashy novel, to build a secure financial future for him/her. My child isn't worth that sacrafice, even though I know this opportunity could truly change our lives. Is that really how you feel? Don't you know that your child is WORTH IT?!? Does your child nap? Play independently? Go to school or daycare? Do you have a trusted person who can care for your child for a couple hours per day, while you work your business? Can your child not sit next to you in their own little "home office space" at the kitchen table, "working" right along side you for 20 minutes here and there? You don't have to spend 8-10 hours/day working your business. Build it part time. It may take a little longer to reach your income goals, but it will most definitely be totally WORTH IT when you DO! If you truly want to change your life, you'll make the sacrafice. It's all about priorities. So please don't use your children as an excuse. Use them as an inspiration! Do it for them, no matter the cost. They ARE worthy. To Your Success, Missy VanMeter www.facebook.com/groups/TinyHomeBigLife www.facebook.com/mdvanmeter Branding yourself is very important in Network Marketing. Unfortunately, many sponsors do not teach their down-lines the importance of it, if they mention it at all. It isn't that they do not want you to succeed, but they may not know the importance of it themselves. So today I'd like to briefly explain 5 reasons why you should brand yourself instead of your company....
I hope you found this information useful and that you will put some serious thought into beginning to brand YOU, INC instead of focusing solely on your Network Marketing company. I promise, you will not regret it! Please feel free to share this post with your team or anyone else you feel could benefit from it. To Your Success, Missy VanMeter www.facebook.com/mdvanmeter If you are marketing your business on facebook (and you very well should be, considering it's the most popular social networking site!) you are bound to have tons of leads that you do not have an email address for. Am I right? You know, the prospects who request info from you but haven't "had time" to go check out your website yet (where you SHOULD have a capture page- a way to collect their email addresses- before they can even access your website!) The one and only way you have to contact those leads is through facebook. And that can get VERY time consuming, once you have hundreds or even thousands of leads to follow up with.
If your goal is to work smarter, not harder, and automate as much of your business as possible (which again, it very well should be!) then I have an AWESOME tip for you today! It's a way to collect the email addresses of those prospects without having to ask for it. Would that help you out, at all? Of course it would!!! So let's get started, shall we?!? Step 1- Go to www.yahoo.com and create a new FREE yahoo email account. Step 2- Once you are logged in to your new account- Click the little avatar/person icon on the top left corner of the screen. Step 3- Click "Facebook" on the left. Step 4- Click "Import." Step 5- Click "Continue as YOUR NAME." Step 6- Once the import is complete, the email address of everyone on your facebook friends list who shares their email address- will now be stored in your "Contacts" in your new yahoo mail account. Now you will simply go through the list and grab the email address of those you need it for, and add them to your auto-responder. If you have a leads list (and again, you SHOULD! lol) you can simply go through your leads list and type in (or copy/paste) their names, one by one, into the search box in your yahoo contacts. *Remember that you are ONLY grabbing email addresses for those who have asked you for information! Adding random facebook friends to your auto-responder will be considered SPAMMING. You ONLY add those who have requested information from you about your business and have not yet given you a yes or no answer. Some of those people may no longer be interested and if that is the case, they can simply click the "unsubscribe" button when they receive an email from your auto-responder. *In order for this technique to work, your prospects will need to be on your friends list, on facebook. That is one of the many reasons why it's so important to always ask them to send you a friend request when they request information from you. If they do not send you one, you can send them one. Some people may not accept it, and that's fine. You can then ask for their email address, instead. If they are not on your friends list nor do you have their email address, make a note to follow up with them via facebook message periodically. I hope this tip has been helpful for you! Now go get it done! =) To Your Success, Missy VanMeter www.facebook.com/mdvanmeter www.facebook.com/groups/tinyhomebiglife Log in to your personal facebook page.
Click the little down arrow in the top right hand corner. "Create Page" "Artist, Band, or Public Figure" "Category" - Entrepreneur Type in whatever you want to name your page. (Mine is just Missy & Dale VanMeter. Some others I know of are Ashley "The Lifestyle Changer" Young, "Alfredo "The Life Changer" Delgado, Mother Hustler, BossBabe, Create Your Life, Secrets of a Hustler, etc.) "Get Started" Then follow the instructions for uploading a profile picture, cover photo, description, etc. *Use a professional looking photo of YOURSELF (no half naked pictures, etc) as your profile picture- not your dog, a flower, etc. A family photo is fine. People do business with people they know, like, and trust. They want to know you are a REAL person before they join your team. *Use an inspirational cover photo- something that inspires people to go after the life they want. *I do not recommend mentioning the name of your company ANYWHERE on your page. Curiosity is what will make people COME TO YOU for more information. And that is what we want- we want people to come to us, we do not chase people! ***Be sure to check out THIS ARTICLE for more tips and tricks to use on your new facebook business page!!! To Your Success, Missy VanMeter www.facebook.com/mdvanmeter www.facebook.com/groups/tinyhomebiglife Having a facebook business-page (or "fan page" as they are also called) has many benefits. Not only can you send unlimited private messages per day without the risk of being thrown into facebook jail, but there are some misc. little cool things you can do as well. After you have created your page, go to "Settings" and check out the following tips & tricks...
Under "General" "Country Restrictions" If your opportunity is only available in the United States or only available in a couple other countries, you can choose to ONLY show your page to people in those countries. "Page Moderation" At some point you are going to experience a hateful, negative, and/or coniving person in your business. There are people who immediately scream SCAM the moment they see a network marketing opportunity. Having said that, I HIGHLY recommend adding the following words/phrases to your BLOCKED list here: Scam, Scammer, Scheme, Pyramid Scheme, Liar, Thief. You may also include any other negative words or phrases you can think of. If someone makes a comment and includes one of these words/phrases, facebook will hide it. "Profanity Filter" - I highly recommend setting this to "Strong." I once had a guy comment BULL$HIT on one of my income proof videos, but since I had this profanity filter set to strong- facebook automatically hid his ignorant remark. Under "Messaging" Here you can set up a greeting, instant reply, etc. Under "Notifications" Here you can choose which notifications you would like to receive and how you would like to receive them. Under "Page Roles" I highly recommend that you add someone else that you trust as an admin of your page. A spouse, parent, best friend, a second profile if you have more than one, etc. This way if, God forbid, you are ever thrown into facebook jail or your account is deactivated for some reason, you can still access your business page. Under "Preferred Page Audience" Here you can choose location, interests, age, etc for your target market. This helps to ensure that your page is put in front of those who matter most. To Your Success, Missy VanMeter www.facebook.com/mdvanmeter www.facebook.com/groups/tinyhomebiglife Automation is the key to making money while you sleep. It will enable you to recruit and/or sell whether you are sitting at your computer/phone/tablet, lying on the beach, taking a nap, having a fun day out with your family, in bed with the flu, at the hospital with a loved one, driving cross country, or anything else that you may choose to do with your time. If it is not a major goal of yours, it certainly SHOULD be!
There are tons and tons of automated systems out there that you can purchase, and if you have the funds for it- good for you! But for those of you who cannot afford a system like that, today I'd like to share how you can quickly and easily create your own automated system for your home business- for less than $5! Yes, FIVE buckaroos! Essentially what you will be doing is creating a capture page that is connected to an autoresponder. You will be sending all of your prospects to that capture page, so they will not be able to view your website until they have submitted their name and email address (this ensures that you see every single person who views your website, so no one falls through the cracks). Once they submit that info on the capture page, they are taken to your website. They get all of the information they need on your website. If they do not make a decision on the spot, your autoresponder stays in touch with them so they do not forget about you/your business/product/service/opportunity. If you have never used an automated system, this may sound a bit confusing. I promise you, it's actually very simple if you just follow the steps below. So let's get started, shall we? Step 1- Grab the url for your website. This may be a website provided by the company (typically called your referral link) or one that you made yourself. Wherever it is that you send your potential customers/recruits. Be sure that whatever this website is- whether it is company provided or made by you- that it includes enough information about your product, service, or opportunity for people to be able to make an informed decision about it. Copy that link and paste it somewhere easily accessible. Step 2- Choose and purchase your own domain name HERE. Depending on what you choose and what promotions are going on at the time, you can usually get a domain name here for .99 cents for your first year. After the first year, you will typically pay about $15 bucks per year. And by then you will certainly be making money with your business, so that $15 bucks per year will be nothing to you. Make a note of your log in information, do not lose it! Step 3- Get a FREE 30 day trial of this awesome autoresponder HERE. Make a note of your log in information, do not lose it! After your 30 day free trial, you will only pay $19 per month for this. If you are not yet making money with your business (if you commit to your success in business, however, you WILL be making money by then!) and/or are unable to afford the $19/month payment, simply cancel your membership before your 30 day free trial ends. (Note: You may also choose to become an affiliate for this company HERE. For everyone who you refer, you will earn $5 when they pay their monthly bill. Refer just 3 people and yours is paid for by those commissions!) Step 4- Create a FREE website HERE. Make a note of your log in information, do not lose it! You do not need to do ANYTHING to this website yet- just create it with a subdomain including something similiar to the domain name you purchased in step 2. For example- If my domain name is www.TinyHomeBigLife.com my free website subdomain can be http://TinyHomeBigLife.Weebly.com Copy and paste this new subdomain into a file, somewhere safe. This website is only going to have ONE page, which will be your capture page- you will be setting that up here shortly. Step 5- Log in to your autoresponder account HERE. Create a "list" for your business prospects to subscribe to. Step 6- Once logged in, submit the contact form HERE asking them to remove the double opt-in feature on your list. Be sure to include your login name (NOT password!) and the email address on the account, to ensure they are able to locate your account. Step 7- Inside of your autoresponder account, create a "Sign Up Form" for your prospects to use in order to subscribe to your list. To view an example, feel free to check mine out HERE. Once you have created the sign up form, copy the html for it. Step 8- Log in HERE and paste the html that you just copied in step 7, into your new blank website page. Again, you may see mine HERE as an example. Step 9- Log in to your domain name account HERE. Go to "Manage Domain" and set it up to "Redirect" to "Target" - paste your weebly subdomain there in the target box. Be sure to save your changes! It can take up to 24 hours for your domain name to begin redirecting to your free weebly subdomain, however, in my personal experience it's never taken more than 20 minutes. Keep checking to see when it has began redirecting, as you will not want to give anyone the link until that happens. Step 10- Create some simple autoresponder emails that you would like your new autoresponder to send out to your prospects once they have joined your list. You can schedule when you would like them all to go out. For example- Set it up to send the first email as soon as they subscribe, send another email 2 days later, send the next email 1 week later, send another email 1 month later, etc. You do not need to sit down and create 6 months worth of autoresponder emails TODAY, but you will need to create a few- depending on how often you would like them to be sent out. Then be sure to add new ones in as often as you can, so you will always be ahead of schedule. Step 11- Once you see that your new domain name is properly redirecting to the weebly page/capture page that you have created- start sending ALL of your prospects to that new domain name instead of sending them straight to your website for information. CONGRATULATIONS! You now have a system in place that will gather your prospects email addresses, send them to your website, and stay in touch with them so you do not have to spend your time following up with every single person individually all the time. Now you can spend that extra time on more important tasks! =) *If you'd like to take your automation a step further: SOCIAL MEDIA SCHEDULING SYSTEM- This is another MUST HAVE for automating your business! I use it and LOVE it! Get a 37 day FREE trial by using my referral link here: https://www.cinchshare.com/?a=qxg3n and entering promotion code: CSFree when you sign up! It's only $10/month after your free trial and it's TOTALLY worth it!!! To Your Success, Missy VanMeter www.facebook.com/mdvanmeter www.facebook.com/groups/tinyhomebiglife I would never in a million years use (or suggest that you use) mind games to "trick" people into doing business with you. There are tons of sleazy salespeople who use those tactics and if they can sleep at night, good for them. But to me- it's unethical, and I refuse to stoop to their level. Maybe that means I will not sale or recruit as much as them, and I'm totally fine with that!
There are, however, some simple tactics that you can use with your prospects to PRIME them and get them in the right mindset for your presentation/offer. These are proven strategies from the book titled "Methods of Persuasion." Today I would like to share those with you. 1. The words "flexible", "elastic", "rubber", and "change" have been found to trigger open-mindedness. For example, "Being able to have a flexible schedule was a wonderful and much-needed change for me!" 2. Making a statement about someone else's open-mindedness can help to activate the open-mindedness of the person you are speaking to. For example, "What are your thoughts on skydiving? My friend Sandra was petrified about going, but she recently went and she absolutely loved it!" 3. Ask for a large request or favor first, then a small request/favor. People are more likely to say yes to the small thing after turning down the large thing. For example, asking someone to purchase a $200 startup kit before offering them the $99 kit. Or asking someone to let you throw a party/class at their house before asking them to hold a "catalog show" or "online party" for you. 4. Suggest a high anchor point. For example, "On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being "I'm ready to start right now!" and 1 being "I'm running for the hills" - where are you? Are you at least at an 8?" 5. Reinforce their expectations that they CAN do this! For example, "You seem like a very outgoing and friendly individual. I bet you are a huge people person! Those are great qualities to have!" 6. Getting someone to nod their head before you make a request can trigger a more agreeable state of mind. For example, pause during the conversation as a nonverbal cue that you would like them to acknowledge your last point. Many people will nod in agreement. 7. When you want to encourage or discourage certain behavior, point the "norm" toward the desired behavior. For example- if you want to increase the size of your tips, demonstrate that most customers tip generously. 8. Reciprocity. Doing a favor for someone will usually increase the odds of them doing a favor for you, in return. (Note- Do not go around doing favors for people solely for this purpose. You should help others whenever you can, just to be a nice person...not to get something in return. If someone happens to, that's just a BONUS!) 9. Compliment them. (Note- Do not just recklessly throw around compliments, people can tell when you're being "fake!" Just put more effort into noticing things that you do genuinely feel deserves a compliment.) 10. Find a similarity and point it out. For example, a shared name, a mutual friend, a common interest or hobby, etc. 11. Use the words "we" and "us" rather than "you." This helps to show that you're in this together and will be there to support and assist them when needed. 12. Use limitations. For example, "Limit of 10 per person." or "I have 5 openings left for today!" 13. Repetition. Very few people buy a product or join a company on the first exposure. This is why it is sooo important to stay in touch with them, follow up, etc. (Note- An autoresponder takes the time consuming work out of this for you! If you do not already have an autoresponder, I highly recommend the 30 day free trial here: FREE 30 Day Trial! 14. Ask rhetorical questions. For example, "Don't you agree that...." or "Isn't it true that..." 15. Whenever you need to communicate a new concept to someone, compare it to something they are already familiar with. For example, "Today you will be paying $39.90 which is your first and last month's fee, much like most auto insurance policies require."
